Garbage, Recycling and Compost

The information below outlines the options available for waste disposal in Lambton Shores.  Thank you to our partner, Bluewater Recycling Association, for providing much of the information in the links below.

Recycling has become an important part of our everyday lives. Lambton Shores offers a weekly recycling pickup service which is contracted to Bluewater Recycling Association (BRA). BRA currently uses a co-collection system which means both garbage and recycling are collected at the same time using the same truck.

Electronic Waste

Electronic Waste (e-waste) is very harmful to the environment when not disposed of properly. Bring old televisions, computers, and computer components can be dropped off at either the Forest or Northville municipal offices for disposal. There is no fee for this service.

Owners are responsible for the removal of all personal data from any unit prior to bringing it to an e-waste site.

Residents of Lambton Shores may use the landfills and waste sites in neighbouring municipalities.

Compost

The Lambton Shores Compost Site is now closed for the season. It will reopen in the spring - date to be determined. 

The Municipality owns and operates a compost site located at 7550 Brush Road, adjacent to the Forest Wastewater Treatment Plant. Hours of operation are Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9:00am - 2:00pm mid April to late November.

Christmas Tree Drop Off Program 

The Christmas Tree Drop off program will be running again this year.  The last day to drop off trees at the locations noted below will be January 9, 2018.

  • 6276 Townsend Line Forest - the old Forest Arena across from Tim Hortons

Leaf Pick Up Program

The fall leaf pick-up program has ended. The spring program will be annouced at a later date

Lambton Shores provides a leaf pick up program for its residents. Leaves can be bagged for pick up by the Community Services Department during the allotted time in the spring and fall at no charge.

  • All leaves must be bagged in brown, paper bags. Clear bags will not be accepted.
  • Only leaves will be picked up; not garbage or brush please.
  • All bags must be placed at the curb for pickup.
  • Leaves will be picked up sometime during the week as time and quantity dictate.
