Garbage, Recycling and Compost

Garbage & Recycling

There is weekly garbage and recycling pickup in Lambton Shores. The service is contracted to Bluewater Recycling Association (BRA).BRA currently uses a co-collection system which means both garbage and recycling are collected at the same time using the same truck.  You can also learn more about the automated collection system that started in Lambton Shores in July 2014.

Electronic Waste

Electronic Waste (E-Waste) is very harmful to the environment when not disposed of properly. Bring old televisions, computers, and computer components can be dropped off at either the Forest or Northville municipal offices for disposal. There is no fee for this service.

Landfills and Waste Sites

Residents of Lambton Shores may use the landfills and waste sites in neighbouring municipalities. 


The Compost Site will open for the season on April 12, 2017

The Municipality owns and operates a compost site located at 7550 Brush Road,  adjacent to the Forest Wastewater Treatment Plant. Hours of operation will be Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9:00am - 2:00pm.

FREE Topsoil

The Municipality of Lambton Shores is offering free composted, screened topsoil from the Northville Yard to residents on Saturdays for the month May. Full Details

Leaf Pick Up Program

The spring program will run from May 1 - May 31, 2017

Lambton Shores provides a leaf pick up program for its residents. Leaves can be bagged for pick up by the Community Services Department during the allotted time in the spring and fall at no charge.

  • All leaves must be bagged in brown, paper bags. Clear bags will not be accepted.
  • Only leaves will be picked up; not garbage or brush please.
  • All bags must be placed at the curb for pickup.
  • Leaves will be picked up sometime during the week as time and quantity dictate.
