COMMUNITY LIFE: OVERVIEW
Our picturesque community of Lambton Shores is home to over 12,000 residents, living for the most part in the towns and villages of Arkona, Forest, Grand Bend, Ipperwash, Port Franks and Thedford – each one with a unique hometown history.
These are still the kinds of places where neighbours know one another, gladly help one another, and come together to celebrate community events, like Canada Day and the Santa Claus Parade. Walk through any neighbourhood, and you’re sure to sure to say “Good morning!” or “Good evening!” to nearly everyone you meet.
In Lambton Shores, our shared sense of community has stood the test of time.
We’re fortunate to enjoy a quality of life that is second to none, with the wonders of nature right on our doorstep: the Ausable River, Rock Glen Falls, the magnificent Pinery Provincial Park, and the spectacular freshwater beaches of Lake Huron – where countless residents and visitors alike have enjoyed many a breathtaking sunset.
Culture abounds as well, with live theatre at the Huron Country Playhouse and Forest Amphitheatre, exciting drag racing at the Grand Bend Motorplex, great restaurants, local museums, and open-air farmers’ markets.
Truly, there is something for everyone in Lambton Shores, including visitors, from near and far, who we welcome with open arms each summer, as they flock to local beaches, marinas, camp grounds, trailer parks, trails, Provincial parks and private cottages.
Whether it’s a drive out to the country for fresh local produce, a drive down the Grand Bend strip on a warm summer’s night, or a quiet, tranquil stroll along a densely wooded trail, there’s a lot to be said for living life in Lambton Shores.
