TAXES
The Municipality of Lambton Shores issues tax bills to all property owners in Lambton Shores. These taxes include not only taxes for the services provided by Lambton Shores but also services provided by the County of Lambton and the Boards of Education. The tax bills are issued twice a year; February and August, and they each have two instalments.
The due dates are the last business day of the month in February, May, August and November. The first two instalments are estimated taxes based on 50% of last years total taxes and the final two reflect the current year assessment and approved budget.
Taxes may be paid in a variety of ways as outlined in the FAQ document below.
PROPERTY ASSESSMENT

Individual property taxes are based on the assessed value of your property. This value is established by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation, MPAC for short. These values are established by factoring in property values, recent property sales etc. to establish a “market value” of your property. Property owners will receive a notice from MPAC as to what the assessed value of their property is. The notice will provide information on how to question that value or appeal for a change.
