Olympic Torch Run

March 10, 2009 -- Residents of Lambton Shores anxious to catch the Olympic Spirit will have the opportunity to see the Olympic Flame in person on December 24, 2009 as it passes through Forest on its way towards the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games. The 2010 Olympic Torch Relay, presented by Coca-Cola and RBC, will reach over 90 per cent of Canadians within a one-hour drive.  The torch relay route is available at vancouver2010.com and information on how residents can apply to be torchbearers can be found at icoke.ca and rbc.com/carrythetorch.   More...

Thanks Ontario

Lambton Shores is the proud recipient of money from the Provincial "Invest in Ontario" grant.  These grants will be directed to several projects in the community including the new "Arkona Community Centre Parking Lot", the rehabilitation of the "Arkona Brownfield Site", the paving and improvements to "Rawlings Road" in Forest and the reconstruction of "Gill Road" in Grand Bend.  In total these grants amount to $765.206.00

Without this kind of financial support from the Province of Ontario it is doubtful that these projects would have been undertaken.  Thanks go out to the Province and in particular Mrs. Maria Van Bommel our MPP who advocates for this community each and every time we seek funding support from the Province.  Thank you from a grateful community.

Lambton Shores Wins 4 Blooms!!   2008

The inaugural year for Communities in Bloom in Lambton Shores was a huge success with Lambton Shores receiving 4 Blooms out of a possible 5 at the Provincial Awards ceremonies.  We also captured special mention for Community Involvement, proving that community spirit is alive and well in Lambton Shores!  Great job to everyone involved in this program, and we are already looking forward to next year’s competition.  Next year’s theme colours are pink and purple flowers.  Happy gardening!
