Council to return to virtual meetings

Out of an abundance of caution, Lambton Shores Council has made the decision to return to a virtual format for Council meetings. The decision was made amidst mounting concerns over the spread of COVID-19’s Omicron variant and public health guidelines that advise limiting indoor public gatherings.
Although Council meetings will return to a virtual format, meetings will continue to be live streamed for the public.

Council Highlights for September 2022:
- A public meeting for a Zoning By-Law Amendment was held for 7414 Townsend Line to rezone the severed lands to an agricultural zone that allows for a residential dwelling and prohibit a dwelling on the retained portion of the farm; the ZBA was approved
- A temporary use agreement was approved for 8189 Jura Line to permit the occupancy of an existing dwelling during the construction of a new dwelling

Flags Lowered to Half-Mast

The Municipality of Lambton Shores joins people throughout the Commonwealth in mourning the loss of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Flags have been lowered to half-mast at all Municipal facilities in memory of Her Majesty.

Safe Boating Awareness Week takes place May 21 to 27, 2022 and is an opportunity to remind boaters about the importance of safe boating practices.
Since 1995, Safe Boating Awareness Week has been the mainstay of boating safety to over 16 million people who spend time out on Canadian waters. Each year, the awareness week is dedicated to boat safety messages to ensure we all do our part to keep all boaters safe.

Construction Notice for Thedford

The Municipality of Lambton Shores will be starting a reconstruction project in the areas of Dumfries, Sherrard, and Nelson Streets in Thedford. The project is set to begin June 2022, with an anticipation of completion by September 2022 (with a final coat of Asphalt being completed in 2023).
The project includes: replacement of watermain, storm sewer, sidewalk on Nelson Street, and road reconstruction. The streets will be closed with access for 'Local Traffic Only' throughout the project.
