UPDATE - May 14, 2021: The Ontario government has announced the extension of the declaration of emergency and province-wide stay-at-home order. The order, and all related restrictions, will remain in effect until at least June 2, 2021. More details about the provincial order and restrictions can be found on the Ontario government’s website.
As a result, the following closures within Lambton Shores remain in effect during the extended stay-at-home order:

Council Highlights – May 4, 2021

Council met virtually on May 4th for their regularly scheduled meeting. The public was invited to view the open session beginning at 7:00 pm. live on the Lambton Shores website.
- After a 6:00 pm Closed Session, Council declared property abutting 85 Main Street in Grand Bend surplus to the needs of the municipality and will be sold directly to the abutting land owner

Forest Sports Park Project receives funding support through Jays Care Foundation

Announced Friday, May 7 on Sportsnet’s Blue Jays Central, the Forest Minor Baseball Association is one of 14 organizations to receive a grant through the Jays Care Foundation’s 2021 Field of Dreams program.
The Municipality of Lambton Shores was a co-applicant on the application, which received a $54,800 grant towards the Forest Sports Park Project. The grant will support the cost of two covered accessible dugouts and fencing on the Rick Goodhand Memorial Baseball Diamond.

Lambton Shores Retains Blue Flag Status for 13th Consecutive Year

For the 13th consecutive year, the Municipality of Lambton Shores has earned the prestigious Blue Flag Canada designation at the Grand Bend Beach, Grand Bend Marina and Port Franks Marina.
The Blue Flag designation is an international award given to beaches and marinas that meet high environmental, safety, and cleanliness standards. This year’s list includes 23 beaches and ten marinas across Canada.

Lambton Shores unveils Rainbow Crosswalk in Grand Bend

As a symbol of diversity and inclusion within Lambton Shores, a rainbow crosswalk is now a permanent feature in the heart of Grand Bend. After being approved by Council last year, the rainbow was added to a crosswalk at the beach turning circle on Friday.
With the installation, the Municipality of Lambton Shores joins many other municipalities throughout Canada in displaying this permanent show of support and acceptance for the LGBTQ+ community.
