Lambton Shores unveils Rainbow Crosswalk in Grand Bend

As a symbol of diversity and inclusion within Lambton Shores, a rainbow crosswalk is now a permanent feature in the heart of Grand Bend. After being approved by Council last year, the rainbow was added to a crosswalk at the beach turning circle on Friday.
With the installation, the Municipality of Lambton Shores joins many other municipalities throughout Canada in displaying this permanent show of support and acceptance for the LGBTQ+ community.

Lambton Shores Council passes by-law to allow licensed low-speed vehicles on public roads

LAMBTON SHORES – On April 13, 2021, Lambton Shores Council passed a by-law that will allow licensed and registered low-speed vehicles (LSVs) to operate on public roads within the Municipality.
The decision was made in alignment with the province’s Low-Speed Vehicle Pilot project, which launched in 2017 to permit the operation of LSVs within municipalities where a by-law has been passed.

Grand Bend Beach remains open with restrictions during new provincial order

As of April 8, 2021, the Ontario government has issued a provincewide stay-at-home order, which will remain in place for a minimum of four weeks. In accordance with the provincial order, Grand Bend Beach remains open to those in the region.
Although the beach remains open, the Municipality of Lambton Shores reminds the public that a key takeaway from the provincewide stay-at-home order is the importance of not travelling outside your own region unless necessary.

Lambton Shores receives funding for Ontario Street bridge

As part of the Ontario government’s recently announced Connecting Links Program, Lambton Shores will receive up to $4,853,952 in funding to support the replacement and widening of the Ontario Street bridge in Grand Bend.
“Connecting Links are roads that are important to both local residents and the provincial transportation network as a whole,” said Mayor Bill Weber. “It’s important to have provincial funding that helps ensure these key roads and bridges are kept in good repair.”
