Council met virtually for their regularly scheduled meetings in June and July. The public was invited to view the open session beginning at 7:00 pm. live on the Lambton Shores website. Here are some of the highlights from the two meetings:

COVID-19: Municipal Impacts as Ontario is set to enter Step 3

The Ontario government recently announced that the province will advance to the third step of their Roadmap to Reopen plan at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 16, 2021. Step Three of the plan focuses on expanded outdoor gatherings and the resumption of additional indoor services.

Ontario to enter Step 3 on Friday, July 16

The Ontario government has announced that the province will move into Step 3 of the reopening plan on Friday, July 16 at 12:01 a.m.

2021 Surface Treatment Project

The Municipality of Lambton Shores has initiated a surface treatment project in Thedford, Port Franks, and Ipperwash. The project is expected to begin Monday, July 5, 2021 with an expected completion date in August, 2021.

Provincial funding extended for Huron Shores Area Transit

Huron Shores Area Transit has received an additional $1,065,946 in funding support through the Ontario government’s Community Transportation Grant. The funding supports the extension of the original three-year pilot project that launched Huron Shores Area Transit in December 2020.
The bus service is designed to provide affordable transportation options within the region and connect local towns, villages, and hamlets with Sarnia and London.
