Council Highlights

Meeting of Council held December 18, 2018

  • Council heard a presentation from Dave Crocket and Irene Hall representing the West Shores Wellness Hub requesting funding for the project.  A decision on a motion to provide funding of up to $1,000,000 was tabled until January 2019 budget discussions.
  • The deferred motion from November 20, 2018 to opt out of allowing retail cannabis sales in the municipality was defeated.  By defeating the opt out motion, the sale of recreational cannabis through retail outlets will be permitted in Lambton Shores subject to Provincial licensing requirements.
  • BM Ross and Associates was awarded the Detailed Design Services for Ontario Street – Grand Bend Bridge and Corridor Project in the amount of $280,000.
  • The Grand Bend Area Joint Sewage Board 2019 Budget was approved.
  • Staff was provided direction to deal with drainage issues affecting Gill Road Subdivision properties.
  • 2019 Community Grant and Vibrancy Fund applications were awarded as recommended by staff.
  • Council received the results of the 2019 Budget Survey.
  • Staff presented the Accessibility Report from the 2018 Municipal Election.
  • Council and community members were appointed to various boards and committees.

The next meeting of Council is the budget meeting scheduled for January 15th, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the Legacy Recreation Centre, Thomas Hall, Thedford.  The next regular meeting of Council is scheduled for January 22nd, 2019 at the Legacy Recreation Centre, Thomas Hall, Thedford.
