Meeting of Council held May 7, 2019

  • Council supported the sidewalk maintenance proposal put forward by Lambton County Developmental Services and requested staff to follow up.
  • The StopGap community ramp project was supported with the anticipation that a local organization will champion the project.
  • A second dwelling agreement was approved for Carolinian Canada Campground.
  • The 2019 tar and chip resurfacing tender was awarded to Cornell Construction Limited.
  • A single use plastics report was received where Council was informed of the many ways that the municipality is doing their part in the movement to reduce plastic usage.  Staff will continue to look for ways to promote responsible purchasing.
  • The first quarter operating and capital financial statements were received.
  • Council supported staff recommendations for projects for two grant programs.
  • Amendments were made to the Parking By-Law.
  • Council passed the notice of motion put forth by Councillor Goodhand to undertake the creation of a display wall to recognize the Mayors of Lambton Shores.
  • Several agreements were approved for use of municipally controlled property in Grand Bend.
