Meeting of Council held May 28, 2019

  • Grand Bend Optimist Club made a presentation on their multi-use facility project proposal - Council asked staff for a full report on the feasibility of the project and how it fits Council’s strategic objectives.
  • Forest Agricultural Society asked Council to consider the transfer of the Forest fairground lands back to the Agricultural Society – Council asked staff to prepare a report on the request.
  • A development agreement for Kitchener Avenue, Grand Bend was approved.
  • A site plan agreement for 59 Main Street West, Grand Bend for the development of a mixed commercial/residential building was approved.
  • Sifton Properties’ request for an extension of the draft approval for Vacant Land Condominium at 5188 Cedar Point Line was approved.
  • A site plan agreement for 9 and 11 Main Street West, Grand Bend for the development of a public outdoor patio with retail and restaurants was approved.
  • Staff was asked to send comments to the province on Bill 108, More Homes, More Choices Act, 2019.
  • JHL Excavating Inc. was awarded the tender for the Cliff Road Drainage Works.
  • Council approved the request by the Lakeshore Eco-Network and Ausable Bayfield Conservation Foundation to develop a commemorative woods at the Klondyke Sports Park.
  • VanBree Drainage and Bulldozing Limited was awarded the tender for the Gordon Van Engelen Drain.
  • The 2019 tax rates were approved.
  • Council approved a noise exemption at 45 McKenzie Street, Forest for an outdoor wedding on September 14, 2019.
