Council Highlights – November 12, 2019

  • Consideration of the Report for the Stewart Drain was held.  The Engineer’s Report was prepared and presented by Ray Dobbin, P. Eng.; Court of Revision for this drain will be held on December 3, 2019
  • A Public Meeting was held to rezone a property on Main St in Thedford to permit a bed and breakfast establishment; the zoning by-law amendment was approved by Council
  • Council heard a presentation from residents affected by flooding of Mud Creek in Port Franks. The residents requested that the municipality be responsible for dredging the mouth of the creek when flooding of their properties is a concern. Staff is to follow up with a report
  • An amendment to the development agreement with Widder Station Golf & Country Club to permit the construction of a golf cart storage building was approved
  • Staff was instructed to work with the Grand Bend Optimist Club to consider different options for the design and location of the proposed multi-use facility
  • The $ 285,249 Ausable Bayfield Conservation Levy for 2020 was received
  • The Reserve and Reserve Fund Policy was approved by Council
  • Kineto Theatre funding was allocated for 2019 and 2020
  • The 2020 Council meeting calendar was approved
  • Council approved a Video Surveillance Policy
  • Staff was asked to include two sidewalk construction projects in Forest in the 2020 budget package for discussion
  • Staff was directed to report to Council on the development of a Tree Protection By-Law
