Council Highlights - May 12, 2020

The meeting was held with electronic participation using a video conferencing platform and live streamed to YouTube. 

  • Council deferred invoicing the Optimist Club of Forest for the use of Kimball Hall until the end of the September 2020
  • The County of Lambton Social Services Integration Project at the Thedford Library was supported
  • A contract was awarded to Voyago to supply public transportation services to March 31, 2023 at an annual cost of $ 372,401.18.  The service is possible through the Provincial Community Transportation Grant Funding received by Lambton Shores
  • A Site Plan Agreement with Widder Station Golf a& Country Club Inc. was approved
  • Due to high water levels and safety concerns, Council made the decision not to install the docks at the Port Franks Marina for the 2020 boating season.  Staff will be working to make alternative arrangements for displaced seasonal boaters
  • A rainbow crosswalk will be installed in Grand Bend at the beach turning circle and Government Road
  • An amendment was made to Policy #066 to allow community groups to carry funds forward to 2021 from the 2020 Community Grant and Vibrancy Fund programs due to cancellation of events because of COVID-19

Council’s next regularly scheduled meeting is to be Tuesday, June 2nd at 7:00 pm at the Legacy Centre.  It is unlikely that this meeting will proceed in the traditional format.  Notice will be provided on the municipality’s website.
