Community highlights


  • Arkona is home to sprawling orchards, and beautiful blossoms on these fruit trees decorate the town throughout the month of May.
  • Rock Glen Conservation Area offers a beautiful and peaceful location for hiking, exploring, and fossil hunting. It is also home to Rock Glen Falls – do not miss this 30 ft spectacle!


  • Forest is the largest community in Lambton Shores.
  • The Amphitheatre at Esli Dodge Conservation Area hosts a full day of Canada Day celebrations which attract thousands from the surrounding area.
  • The Forest Farmer's Market takes place Thursdays from 4pm – 8pm, May through October in the parking lot located at the corner of Jefferson and Main Street North. 
  • The Kineto Theatre is one of the world's oldest movie theatres – it's been operating since 1917!

Grand Bend

  • Grand Bend thrives during the summer season as residents and visitors alike flock to the lively Grand Bend Beach.
  • The Grand Bend Farmer's Market takes place Wednesdays from 8 am – 1 pm, May through October at the Lambton Heritage Museum.
  • Nearby attractions include drag racing at the Grand Bend Motorplex and live theatre at the Huron Country Playhouse.
  • Major annual events include the Grand Bend Optimist Club's Beachfest, Scorpion's beach volleyball tournament, and Canada Day Celebrations.
  • The Grand Bend Marina and Grand Bend Beach are two of 3 Blue Flag designated sites in Lambton Shores.


  • Located on the shores of Lake Huron, Ipperwash is a perfect place to fish or boat.
  • The Ipperwash Dunes and Swales Nature Trail offers a beautiful hike through a Carolinian Forest. In the spring, the trail is a great place to see wildflowers in full bloom!
  • Ipperwash Beach is the perfect place to spend the day and to view some of the world's most beautiful sunsets.

Port Franks

  • Located on Lake Huron and the Ausable River, Port Franks is a popular spot to fish or boat.
  • Port Franks is host to the popular Bluewater Anglers Annual Salmon Derby.
  • The Port Franks Marina is one of 3 Blue Flag designated sites in Lambton Shores.
  • Hike through some of Port Franks wetlands, forests and sand dunes on the extensive trail system.


  • The rural surroundings and agricultural roots create a perfect home for many farmgate markets.
  • The Legacy Centre is the newest facility in Lambton Shores and offers the perfect location for sporting events, tournaments, wedding receptions, galas, and trade shows.
