We need volunteers to drive the frail, elderly and/or adults with physical disabilities to and from medical appointments.

Grand Bend Community Health Centre – Walking program instructors

Grand Bend Horticultural Society – Gardeners

Ipperwash Phrag Phighters

Volunteers are a vital part of the group. For a short term commitment, the group will be needing volunteers in late June and late September each year to spade Phragmites on the beach and dunes. Lambton Shores Phragmites Community Group – Various positions

We need volunteers to:

Help cut seed heads and stems and spade Phragmites along the shoreline, locate and identify Phragmites, distribute information and to monitor and take pictures. All jobs are weather dependent.

Lambton Shores Nature Trails – Various Positions

LSNT is growing organization and always looking for volunteers!

Lambton Shores Nature Trails is dedicated to protecting and preserving invironmentally sensitive areas of Lambton Shores and vicinity.

To achieve this we established a network of nature trails in partnership with the owners of these special lands.

LSNT is currently looking for volunteers for the following positions:

MS Society - Southwest Chapter Leadership Council

Position Description and Timeline

The MS Society, Southwest Chapter (Lambton, Elgin, Middlesex and south Huron) is recruiting members for our leadership council. While not a governance board, this team of leadership volunteers will help to shape, plan and execute the presence of the MS Society here in our community and support the development and execution of fundraising events, client programs and community awareness.

We are looking for individuals with experience in, and a passion to lead the following areas:

  • Fundraising
  • Research, Programs & Services
  • Government Relations
  • Public Awareness/PR

We are looking for people who are passionate and are able to commit 3-5 hours a month (on average) to making things happen in our MS community.

MS Society - Event Volunteers

Join our volunteer team!

Purpose: To support ongoing events for the MS Society throughout the year including Pizzafest, Mandarin MS Walk, Carnation Campaign, Bingo, other fundraising!

 MS Society - Mandarin MS Walk Committee Member

Position Description and Timeline

Every year over 40,000 Canadians in more than 160 communities across our country lace up at the MS Walk to raise vital funds for people living with MS.

This family-oriented, community-supported event offers walking routes of varying lengths – including a wheelchair-accessible route – and features start/finish line activities such as inspiring words from MS Ambassadors (people living with MS), entertainment, team awards and more.

Role: Mandarin MS Walk Committee Member - Sarnia

Purpose: Volunteer Committee Members play an important role in the successful planning and execution of the Walk event in their community with the direction, guidance and support of the MS Walk Coordinator and Committee Lead.


  • Attend monthly committee planning meetings
  • Support Staff and Volunteer Leads in the strategic planning and executing of the Mandarin MS Walk 
  • Support fellow committee members with their position specific duties 
  • Participate and assist with recruitment, promotion and recognition activities for Walkers/participants 
  • Assist with soliciting local sponsors 
  • Volunteer at local Mandarin MS Walk during set-up, event execution and/or tear-down 
  • Assist with appreciation activities post event for participants and volunteers 


  • Reliable and punctual
  • Friendly and enthusiastic 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Good organizational skills 
  • Experience in event management, volunteers, sales or marketing is an asset 

January – April
Approximately 2-3 hours a month from January to March. During April, approx. 6-10 hours per month as the team prepares for the event execution. Event day is approximately 8 hours. This is an introductory position to the Walk committee and has a one-year term with a goal of transitioning to a specific task lead. Event day is Sunday, April 28, 2019.
