Bluewater Recycling Association (BRA) provides weekly garbage and recycling pick-up in Lambton Shores. BRA uses a co-collection system, meaning both garbage and recycling are collected at the same time, using the same truck.

Electronic Waste

Electronic Waste (e-waste) is harmful to the environment when not disposed of properly. Certain electronic items can be dropped off at the Northville Municipal Office for proper disposal. There is no fee for this service.

Remove all personal data

Please remove all personal data from any unit prior to bringing it to an e-waste site.

Landfills and Waste Sites

Lambton Shores does not own or operate a landfill or waste site. Lambton Shores Residents can use the landfills and waste sites in nearby municipalities.

Household Hazardous Waste Mobile Depot - October 15, 2022

The County of Lambton will host a special mobile event on Saturday, October 15 for Lambton County residents to dispose of their household hazardous waste.  The event will be at the Public Works Forest Depot located at 6958 Townsend Line from 9:30am until 2:00pm.

Compost Site

Lambton Shores owns and operates a compost site located at 7550 Brush Road, near the Forest Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Hours of operation

The Compost Site is open Wednesday and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. from mid-April to mid-November.  

Fall Leaf Pick Up Program - runs mid-October to mid-November

Lambton Shores operates a Leaf Pick Up Program in the spring and fall at no charge. The fall Leaf Pick Up Program typically runs from mid-October to mid-November each year.

The Fall 2022 program will run Monday, October 17 until November 23, 2022.*

During this period, bagged leaves left at the curb will be picked up as long as they meet the requirements below:

  • All leaves must be in brown paper bags. Plastic bags are not accepted
  • Only leaves will be picked up. No garbage, brush, or other yard waste
  • All bags must be placed at the curb for pick-up

Please do not rake leaves on to the streets or in ditches. This can cause drainage problems and poses a danger to pedestrians, bicycles, and motorists.

*Please note: there will not be a specific day bagged leaves are picked up. Staff will pick up bagged leaves on a rolling basis throughout the period noted above.

Spring Leaf Pick Up Program - runs end of April to end of May

Lambton Shores operates a Leaf Pick Up Program in the spring and fall at no charge. The spring program typically runs from the end of April to the end of May.

During this period, bagged leaves left at the curb will be picked up as long as they meet the requirements below:

Christmas Tree Drop Off

After Christmas each year, residents can drop off their Christmas trees at a Municipal tree drop off site.

Tree drop off locations:

  • 9575 Port Franks Road, Thedford
  • 7849 Rawlings Road, Forest

This year, the last day to drop off trees at the drop off locations is January 7, 2023.

Before dropping your tree off, please remove all decorations, tree stands, bags or nets. Artificial trees are not accepted.
