Shores Recreation Centre Public Skating Schedule

Learn to Skate 

• Provides an opportunity for parents to teach children to skate.
• Strollers and skate aids permitted.
• Children must wear a helmet; CSA approved helmets are strongly recommended.
• No sticks permitted.
• FREE

Adult Skate

• For adults only.
• CSA approved helmets are strongly recommended.
• No sticks permitted.
• FREE

Learn to Play 

• Provides an opportunity for parents to teach children hockey or Ringette skills.
• No slap shots or aggressive play.
• CSA approved helmets with a mask and gloves are required.
• FREE

Sunday Public Skating 

• Parental supervision is required for patrons under 16 years of age
• No sticks or hockey pucks permitted – only skating is permitted
• CSA approved helmets are strongly recommended for all skaters.
• FREE

PD Day and Holiday Skates

PD Days 

Learn to Skate, Adult Skate and Learn to Play will be cancelled on these days.

• October 7 - 11:00am - 12:30pm
• November 18 - no Public Skating due to a previously scheduled event
• February 3 - 10:30am-12:00pm

Holidays

• Thanksgiving - October 10 - 10:00am - 11:30am (Adult Skate will run from 12-1pm)
• Christmas Holidays - Learn to Skate, Adult Skate, Learn to Play and Sunday Public Skates will be cancelled December 24-January 9.

• Family Day - February 20 - no Public Skating due to a previously scheduled event
