The Shores Recreation Centre opened its doors to Lambton Shores in 2007. The facility houses an arena, gymnasium, meeting space, fitness centre, indoor walking track and the local food bank.

Arena

  • Ice Surface  
    • 1 NHL size rink (200 ft x 85 ft) (available September – March)
  • Seating capacity of 700, standing room for several hundred more 
  • Concrete Pad has a full capacity of 425 (available April-August only)
  • Concession Booth - Operated by the Optimist Club of Forest 
  • Sports and Recreation User Groups 

Indoor walking track

Operating Hours

  • 6:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. Monday-Friday; 8:00am-11pm Saturday and Sunday
  • Access through the YMCA prior to 8:00 a.m. Hours may differ on some statutory holidays. 
  • Elevator access available. Arena staff assistance required when the YMCA is closed.

Gymnasium 

  • 1 full size basketball, volleyball, badminton and pickle ball courts 
  • Tumble equipment and some sports equipment available to use
  • Can be split into 2 by a curtain wall

Meeting room

  • Lower meeting room has a capacity of 30
  • Tables and chairs provided

Contact House

  • Located on the upper level of the facility next to the YMCA
  • Open Tuesdays from 9:30am-11:30am

Rentals

In the fall and winter, the ice can be rented out for private parties/functions, and during the spring and summer the concrete pad can be rented out for dances, trade shows and summer sports. The meeting rooms are ideal for committee meetings, small workshops and small social gatherings. The gymnasium is popular for birthday parties and organized sports.

All ice time rentals are based on a 50 minute hour with the additional 10 minutes of the hour set aside for the resurfacing of the ice. All resurfacing is at the discretion of Management, not the User Group.
