Council Highlights: April 2023

  • Council received a presentation from the Forest BIA highlighting their Mural Project in Forest
  • Sifton Properties Limited draft plan of vacant land condominium at 5188 Cedar Point Line expiry date was extended to June 15, 2024
  • The request by the developer of 9-15 Main Street West Grand Bend to replace and relocate the existing hydro poles within the Main Street road allowance was approved
  • Bee-Clean Building Maintenance was awarded the Custodial Services RFP for municipal buildings at 9575 and 9577 Port Franks Road
  • Council heard presentations for a commercial leaf blower ban, request to name the Port Franks Tennis Courts and Not So Pro Volleyball
  • Authorization was given to single source purchase a pick up truck to replace a vehicle deemed to be a total loss
  • Rice Development Corp. draft approved plan of subdivision expiry date was extended to June 15, 2026
  • Council received a report on the proposed new Provincial Policy Statement
  • An agreement to operate the concession at Utter Park in Arkona was approved with the Arkona Improvement Association
  • Council approved an exemption to the policy for naming municipal property to name the Port Franks Tennis Courts “The Bill and Connie Graham Courts”
  • The tender for the Klondyke Road/Goosemarsh Drain Culvert Replacement was awarded to VanBree Drainage & Bulldozing for the tendered price of $152,555.90
  • The sidewalk replacement tender was awarded to Autoform Contracting London Limited in the amount of $100,824.10
  • Council approved an agreement with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities/Green Municipal Fund for the new administration office
  • A Fire Dispatch Agreement with Sarnia Police Services was approved
  • Overholt Excavating Services was awarded the 2023 spot dredging contract for Port Franks Marina

The next meeting will be held on May 16, 2023 in the Council Chamber at the Administration Building – 9577 Port Franks Road.  The public is invited to view the meeting online or in person.
