Council Highlights
Meeting of Council held February 13, 2018.
- Public meetings were held for two applications for Zoning By-Law Amendments:
- Dale Hayter and Sons Ltd. - 10410 Lakeshore Road
- Rice Development Company Inc. - Brooklawn Dr and Tattersall Lane, Grand Bend.
- Huron Shores Transit gave a presentation to Council asking for support of a community transit initiative.
- Council awarded contract for the purchase of a Triple Combination Pumper Rescue Truck to Camions Carl Thibault Inc. for $579,123.00.
- Updated the by-law Establishing a Lambton Shores Fire Department.
- Appointed Lawrence Swift as the Lambton Shores Fire Chief.
- Supported a change Vacancy Rebates tax policy put forward by the County of Lambton.
- Approved the Forest BIA Budget.
- Allocated any 2017 surplus to specific reserve funds.
- Supported exemptions to the Beach Policy and by-law for a Beach Hockey Showdown Event on Grand Bend beach on August 25, 2018.
- Approved the funding for the purchase of 7849 Rawlings Road.
- Passed a by-law delegating authority of certain acts in the event Council is in a lame duck position.
- Established and appointed members to the Joint Compliance Audit Committee for the next term of Council.
- Appointed members to the Lambton Shores Accessibility Committee.
- Received an update on the 2018 Municipal Election.
