Council Highlights: October 2024

Council highlights for October 2024:

  • A public meeting was held for was held for a ZBA application for 9530 Northville Road to change the zoning from Extractive Industrial-2 to residential; the application was approved
  • A public meeting was held for was held for a ZBA application for 141 Main Street Thedford to a residential zone; the application was approved
  • A public meeting was held for was held for a ZBA application for Dietrich Cres to permit the use of the subject lands as a parking area (either accessory to a future development on 50 Main St or as a commercial parking lot); the application was approved
  • A public meeting was held for was held for a ZBA application for 38 Queen St Forest to permit the addition of a sunroom to the existing non-conforming dwelling and construct an accessory building (carport) for residential use; the application was approved
  • A site plan received for 11 Tattersall Lane Grand Bend or construction of a 69 unit apartment building with basement level parking
  • A site plan was received for Amtelecom Parkway in Forest for a commercial development including restaurant and commercial space, a gas bar, and a car wash
  • Council accepted the request by Southcott Pines Park Association to terminate the Road Maintenance Agreement
  • The proposal for the one-way traffic conversion on King Street West in Forest was accepted pending an acceptable final design
  • The Growling Gator’s application to the CIP Program was approved
  • Council heard a presentation from the Lambton Seniors Advisory Committee
  • Council received a presentation regarding the Pinehill Cemetery
  • The 2025 Grand Bend Area Joint Sewage Board was received
  • Staff were directed to proceed with an application for the King Street East Resurfacing Project through MTO Connecting Link Funding
  • Staff were directed to proceed with an application through the Housing Enabling Water Systems Fund for the Thedford Watermain Improvement Project
  • The 2025 OPP Policing Costs were received and Council were made aware that the budget was increasing 24% over 2024 costs
