On Tuesday, November 29th, 2022, the Council of the Municipality of Lambton Shores will hold a public meeting, pursuant to Section 12 of the Development Charges Act, 1997, to present and obtain public input on a proposed amendment to the Municipality’s existing Development Charges By-law 01-2018. It is proposed that enactment of the amending by-law will occur at the December 20th, 2022 meeting of Council.
Development Charges are levied against new development and are the primary source of funding for growth-related capital expenditures. Development Charges By-laws are typically valid for a period of 5 years. Development Charges By-law 01-2018 came into effect on January 16, 2018 and has an expiry date of December 31, 2022. It is proposed in the amending by-law to replace the current expiry date with the date that is 5 years from the date of the by-law coming into effect.
All interested parties are invited to attend the Public Meeting and any person who attends the meeting may make representation relating to the draft Development Charges Background Study and the proposed amending Development Charges By-Law. The meeting is to be held:
