UPDATE: Lambton County Library will reopen the Forest Library on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. The Service Desk will remain unavailable because of a manufacturing delay, but the library branch will return to regular operation on Tuesday.
Lambton County Library will begin the final phase of its renovation project at Forest Library, starting Saturday, February 5, in an effort to add private meeting and program space, improve accessibility, and create traffic flow, ergonomic, and customer service improvements.
The Forest Library is expected to temporarily close for a duration of three and a half weeks with an anticipated reopening date of Tuesday, March 1, 2022.
How will the renovations change the library?
Changes to the library will include:
- A refreshed reading space
- A new private meeting and program space
- Cosmetic and shelving upgrades
- A revised floor plan
- A relocated service desk
How long will the renovations take?
Phase Two of the renovation project will include new shelving, a new service desk, and the continuation of new flooring and paint throughout the library. Phase Two construction is expected to start Tuesday, February 1 and last for a duration of three and a half weeks.
How will this affect my use of the library?
The library will close all services including: in-person browsing, scheduled appointments for public computer use, curbside pickup, and the book return drop box. Due dates will automatically be extended to March 1, 2022. You are encouraged to use neighbouring libraries including Thedford, Watford, Arkona, Camlachie, and Wyoming and to discover the convenience of our eLibrary services from the comfort of your home. Using a computer, tablet or smart phone, you can borrow eBooks, eAudiobooks, stream movies and music, take online courses, access educational apps and more.
