The Municipality of Lambton Shores has received $123,750 in funding from the Government of Canada through FedDev Ontario's Canada Community Revitalization Fund. The funding will support improvements at the Arkona Community Centre, including the addition of shaded seating areas and the resurfacing of the basketball court, which will transform the existing court into a versatile area that also includes a pickleball court.
The project is one of six in Sarnia-Lambton set to receive funding through a $1.5 million investment by the Government of Canada.
The Kiwanis Club of Forest also received $47,459 in funding through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund to support interior and exterior improvements at the historic Kineto Theatre.
A full list of the six Sarnia-Lambton community infrastructure and tourism projects can be found in the Government of Canada's backgrounder on the announcement.
