For the 14th consecutive year, the Municipality of Lambton Shores has earned the prestigious Blue Flag Canada designation at the Grand Bend Beach, Grand Bend Marina, and Port Franks Marina. The Municipality will proudly fly the Blue Flags once again this summer, with only 22 beaches and ten marinas across Canada receiving the designation in 2022.
The Blue Flag designation is an international award given to beaches and marinas that meet high environmental, safety, and cleanliness standards. The Blue Flag continues to be an important symbol for Canadians looking for memorable beach and marina experiences this summer, with a record number of Canadians visiting Blue Flag destinations last year.
This year marks the 35th anniversary of the Blue Flag programme, with 47 National Operators in the Blue Flag International network. Swim Drink Fish became the National Operator for Blue Flag in early 2020.
More information about Lambton Shores’ Blue Flag designation can be found on the Lambton Shores website.
