More than 350 by-law tickets issued, 87 OPP charges over long weekend

With an expected rise in calls for service, the Municipality had an increased By-Law Enforcement presence across Lambton Shores for the Canada Day long weekend.

Throughout the long weekend, Lambton Shores By-Law Enforcement issued a total of 388 tickets, with 291 for parking infractions and 97 tickets related to other by-law infractions. Tickets for parking infractions were issued primarily in Grand Bend, Port Franks, and Ipperwash.

Lambton OPP has also increased their weekend presence in Grand Bend throughout the summer. According to a recent release from Lambton OPP, a total of 87 charges were laid and 17 individuals were placed in cells for various provincial and criminal offences over the long weekend. Five impaired drivers were also arrested.

By-Law Enforcement and Lambton OPP continue to enforce a zero-tolerance approach for alcohol related infractions. Thank you to both for their ongoing efforts to ensure everyone can enjoy Lambton Shores safely and responsibly.
