The Ontario government has announced that as of 12:01 a.m. on January 5, 2022, the province will return to a modified version of Step Two of the Province’s Roadmap to Reopen. The measures will be in place for at least 21 days, subject to trends in public health and the health care system.
In accordance with these measures, a list of Municipal impacts can be found below. However, please refer to O. Reg. 263/20 Rules for Areas in Step 2 for the complete list of measures and restrictions that apply to certain businesses, organizations, places, and individuals.
Snapshot of Municipal Impacts
In accordance with the Provincial regulations, the following measures will be in place as of January 5, 2022, for at least 21 days (until January 27):
- In-person service at all Municipal offices will be limited to those with appointments only. Staff remain available by phone and email (Staff Directory). There will be no changes to essential services (e.g., waste collection, road maintenance, emergency services, etc.)
- All Municipal facilities will be closed and any indoor programs (e.g., Public Skating) scheduled during these measures will be cancelled
- Regular Council meetings will continue to take place virtually. As always, the public can livestream all regular Council meetings online
- Council has decided to move the annual Budget Meetings to February, which were originally scheduled for January 6 and 13. The updated Council schedule can be found in the Council Calendar
