Municipal updates for the holiday season

Office Closures

With the holiday season approaching, the Municipality of Lambton Shores reminds the public that all Municipal offices will be closed for the holidays, beginning Friday, December 24, 2021. Staff will be available to respond to your phone calls and emails once offices reopen on Monday, January 3, 2022.

While Municipal offices are closed, our after-hours emergency phone number is still available using the following extensions:

  • For water and sewer emergencies: 519-243-1400 (option 6)
  • For other general service emergencies: 519-243-1400 (option 7)

Garbage and Recycling Pickup

This year, Christmas and New Year’s Day take place on a Saturday so your regular waste and recycling collection will be uninterrupted for the holidays. Please set out materials by 7 am to ensure collection. More information can be found at BRA.org

Public Skating

Looking to get out on the ice over the holidays? Remember to always check our Public Skating Calendar before making your way to the arena, just in case there are any changes to the schedule.

Holiday Fire Safety

Lambton Shores Fire and Emergency Services would also like to remind residents to celebrate safely over the holidays. To help residents stay fire safe this year, they are taking part in the annual "12 Days of Holiday Fire Safety" campaign. Check out their web page for more information.

Christmas Tree Drop Off

For those with (real) Christmas trees this year, Lambton Shores is once again offering a free tree drop off program. Christmas tree drop off will be available for Lambton Shores residents and the last day to drop off your tree will be January 7, 2022. Drop off locations include:

  1. 9575 Port Franks Road, Thedford
  2. 7849 Rawlings Road, Forest

Please remove all decorations, tree stands, bags, and/or nets before dropping it off. Artificial trees are not accepted.

Overnight Parking

A reminder that overnight parking (2am to 6am) on Municipal roads is not permitted in Lambton Shores. This is especially important during and after heavy snowfall. If heavy snowfall is expected, please consider moving cars from the road during the day, too.
