In alignment with new Provincial regulations, the Municipality of Lambton Shores will be reopening recreation facilities beginning January 31, 2022. All local health guidelines and Provincial restrictions, including proof of vaccination, active screening, and masking, will remain in place to ensure the safety of staff and facility users.
Public skating programs will also resume beginning February 1, 2022. Always check the Public Skating Calendar for an up-to-date program calendar before heading to the arena.
If you plan to attend a Municipal operated recreational facility, please use the information below on what to expect:
Proof of Vaccination
In accordance with local and Provincial regulations, those aged 12 and older must provide an enhanced vaccine certificate with QR code to enter all recreation facilities. A valid piece of ID must also be presented (see a list of what types of ID can be used).
For those without access to a smart phone, a hard copy version of the enhanced vaccine certificate’s QR code can be provided. To download your digital or print QR code, please visit covid-19.ontario.ca/get-proof. Individuals can also visit their local library or call the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1-833-943-3900 to have their vaccine certificate mailed to them. You can also visit a Service Ontario centre to receive a printed copy.
Active Screening / COVID-19 Self Assessment
Facility users will need to complete a self assessment through the Province’s COVID-19 screening tool and provide proof before entering. Proof of completion for the COVID-19 screening can be done by providing a screenshot or hard copy of the online self-assessment results (a sample screenshot can be found below). The screening tool must be completed each day you plan to attend a recreation facility.
Masking
Masks and/or face coverings are required when inside recreation facilities. The only exception is when ice users are on the ice surface.
