With support from the Municipality of Lambton Shores, Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership (SLEP) has launched a Downtown Revitalization program aimed at boosting the overall economic well-being of downtown Forest.
As part of the program, Forest residents are invited to complete an online resident survey to provide valuable insight on topics like shopping trends and local economic health. Results from the survey will help guide the direction and strategy of the local revitalization program.
The Downtown Revitalization program is a rural economic development initiative through the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. The Forest program is led by a program coordinator through SLEP, and an advisory committee made up residents and local business owners.
In addition to offering the survey online, members of the advisory committee will be out in the community this summer with information booths and surveys set up at the Forest library and farmers’ market. With an emphasis on research, the committee will also facilitate additional data collection with local business owners.
