Update: Fire at Port Franks Marina

Lambton Shores firefighters responded to Port Franks Marina on Thursday night (May 27th) after the marina’s pavilion caught fire. Firefighters were able to quickly control the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby areas.

“Thankfully, no one was hurt during the incident on Thursday night,” said Lawrence Swift, Fire Chief at Lambton Shores Fire and Emergency Services. “Although the pavilion was fully involved when our crew arrived, they were able to successfully control the fire and protect the surrounding area to prevent the fire from spreading and causing further damage.”

The fire was isolated to the pavilion and no injuries or additional damages have been reported. The marina’s normal operations will not be affected this weekend.

Thank you to those who notified authorities and reported the fire, and to Lambton Shores Fire and Emergency Services for their quick response.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
