What is a Community Improvement Plan?
A Community Improvement Plan (CIP) is a tool that allows a municipality to direct funds and implement policy initiatives toward a specifically defined project area. Section 28 of the Planning Act gives municipalities that have enabling policies in their official plans, the ability to prepare CIPs. The CIPs are intended to encourage rehabilitation initiatives and/or stimulate development.

The Community Improvement Plan (CIP) for the Municipality of Lambton Shores is now available for the public to review. The purpose of this Plan is to enable the Municipality to provide financial incentives, in the form of a grant for eligible costs, to owners of businesses in the targeted commercial core areas identified by the CIP.
