West Bosanquet Stormwater Management Master Plan

The Municipality of Lambton Shores has retained the services of EXP Services Inc. to undertake a Stormwater Management Master Plan for the lakeshore area known as West Bosanquet. The area has minimal stormwater infrastructure and as it grows, particularly with intensification and infill development, combined with increasingly intense storm events, stormwater management requires appropriate solutions.

The objectives of the Master Plan are to develop long term recommendations and projects to provide solutions to the existing stormwater infrastructure gaps.

The Project

The Municipality of Lambton Shores has retained the services of EXP Services Inc. to undertake a Stormwater Management Master Plan for the lakeshore area known as West Bosanquet. The area has minimal stormwater infrastructure and as it grows, particularly with intensification and infill development, combined with increasingly intense storm events, stormwater management requires appropriate solutions. The objectives of the Master Plan are to develop long term recommendations and projects to provide solutions to the existing stormwater infrastructure gaps.

The Process

This study is being undertaken in accordance with the Master Planning Process, as outlined in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) (February 2024). It will follow Approach #2 with the intent to select Schedule B projects identified within the Master Plan as well as provide the basis for future Schedule C projects.

How to Get Involved

Public input is encouraged throughout this project and will be given consideration during the planning and design of this project. Project updates and notices will be posted on the Municipality's website (lambtonshores.ca/WBSWMMP) to inform the public of the Class EA process.

Consultation activities will also include a Public Information Centre (PIC) during the study. The PIC is tentatively scheduled for summer 2024. Following confirmation of a date for the PIC, information on the venue and time will be posted on the above-noted website, available local newspaper(s), and notices will be sent to stakeholders to notify of the event.

Public Information Centre - Wednesday, August 7, 2024

A Public Information Centre (PIC) is being planned to present and gather feedback on the Master Plan study process. The PIC will be an open-house format and will present the following: existing conditions; discrepancies in stormwater infrastructure and alternative solutions, proposed conditions and modelling, priority issues / projects, as well as next steps in the process. The PIC will take place as follows:

Date: Wednesday, August 7, 2024
Time: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Location: The Shores Recreation Centre, 7883 Amtelecom Parkway, Forest, ON N0N 1J0 (Downstairs Meeting Room)

The PIC will provide an opportunity for the public and stakeholders to provide input and comments. Please submit all comments on the PIC by August 30, 2024 to either of the contacts below or via comment sheet at the event. Public input and comment are invited, for incorporation into the planning and design of this project. Please submit your comments by email to Sam Shannon.

If preferred, public input can be provided in writing and mailed to the Municipal Office at 9577 Port Franks Road, Thedford, ON N0M 2N0, to the attention of Sam Shannon.
