Proposed King Street West Reconstruction Project
Project Background
In 2024, Lambton Shores Council received a presentation from the Forest BIA on King Street West in Forest and ideas on future construction plans. The presentation was focused on re-imagining King Street in the downtown area.
Lambton Shores had budgeted money to replace the sidewalks downtown and that money was repurposed to start engineering a future reconstruction project on King Street. Staff engaged an engineering consultant to work on the engineering and design for this project.
Proposed Layout Options
The engineering work has led to a number of options that could be considered, largely focused around increasing sidewalk space and implementing one-way traffic. After presenting the information to Council, staff were directed to begin public consultation to collect input before finalizing project details.
Next steps: Public Open House
The Municipality, in partnership with the project engineering team, are hosting a Public Open House on October 16, 2025. The open house will be an opportunity for the community to learn more about the project, the options presented, and ask questions to the project team. Attendees will also have a chance to provide written comments or concerns regarding the project.
