Proposed King Street West Reconstruction Project

At the March 17 regular council meeting, Lambton Shores Council received a report on extended public consultation results on the King Street West Forest Project. At that meeting, Council directed staff to move forward with a reduced project scope, including sidewalk replacement, decorative crosswalks, and utility repairs. The project will maintain the existing street configuration and is scheduled to take place in the Fall of 2026.

Project Background

In 2024, Lambton Shores Council received a presentation from the Forest BIA on King Street West in Forest and ideas on future construction plans. The presentation was focused on re-imagining King Street in the downtown area.

Lambton Shores had budgeted money to replace the sidewalks downtown and that money was repurposed to start engineering a future reconstruction project on King Street. Staff engaged an engineering consultant to work on the engineering and design for this project.
