Council Highlights: March and April 2026

- Council received a presentation from the Lakeshore Eco-Network on Active Transportation
- Council approved a Sports Wall of Fame Recognition Policy and approved the induction of Tyler McGregor and Jamie Johnson for 2026
- The following tenders were awarded:
- Comco Canada - Grand Bend Marina Fuel Tank Replacement - $ 507,389.05 and BM Ross and Associates were awarded contract administration for the project in the amount of $ 50,000.00
- McDonnell Motors Limited – One Ton Truck - $ 135,857.74
- Armstrong Paving and Materials Group Ltd – Asphalt Resurfacing - $ 409,135.08
- Cornell Construction Limited – Tar and Chip Resurfacing - $ 486,196.25
- Fiorino Concrete Limited – Sidewalk Replacement - $ 105,050.04
- Dependable Emergency Vehicles – Fire Apparatus - $ 1,084,101.00
- Dependable Emergency Vehicles – Mini Engine - $ 664,527.00
- King Street West Construction, Forest was approved with a reduced scope of sidewalk replacement, water service maintenance and decorative crosswalk installation
- The following funding agreements were approved:
- Arkona Sewage Treatment Plan Effluent Filter Replacement project
- Community Emergency Preparedness Grant
- Dedicated Gas Tax
- Council received the 2025 Annual Reports for the Building Department, Cash in Lieu of Parkland, Development Charges and Council and Committee Remuneration
- The Parking By-law was amended with restriction for EV parking spaces, increased fines and a reduced paid parking season
- Council approved a request by the Grand Bend Legion Branch 498 for free parking for veterans in 2026
- A 20-year agreement with the Forest Curling and Social Club was approved
- Ontario Street Bridge Project update was provided to Council
- Lambton Shores was appointed the Trustee for the Pinery Cemetery Trust Fund
- An updated Use of Corporate Resources for Election Purposes Policy was approved
