Council Highlights: May 2026
Missed a council meeting last month? Council Highlights for May 2026:
- Council received a presentation from Huron Shores Area Transit
- Tourism Sarnia Lambton (TSL) made a presentation to Council
- Forest Fire Fighters Association was granted a noise exemption on June 13th to 1:00 am
- Orchard View Park was granted noise exemptions on summer long weekends in 2026 to midnight
- An exemption was granted to Upper Thames Military Re-enactment Society to camp at Utter Park as part of the to Arkona 150th Celebration
- GFL Environmental Services was awarded the tender for the Forest Lagoon Sludge Removal project in the amount of $ 508,800.00
- The 2026 tax rates were approved
- A zoning by-law amendment for 113 Pearl Street in Thedford was approved
- Council asked staff to work with the 3 Legions to find locations for commemorative crosswalks
- Staff was asked to prepare a report on the Golf Cart Pilot Program
- Grand Bend Beachfest was granted use of the north beach parking lot on June 20, 2026
- Council approved a new Fireworks By-Law
- A fundraising strategy for the Grand Bend Community Centre was approved and staff was directed to initiate detailed design work
- Community Improvement Plan applications for 82 & 84 Main Street W in Grand Bend were approved
