Council Highlights: February 2026
Missed a council meeting in February? Here are the council highlights for February 2026:
- Council received a presentation from the Arkona Lions Club for a Large Vibrancy Project to update the Arkona Seniors Centre; Council decided to fully fund the request
- Survey results were received regarding dog parks and Council supported the development of dog parks
- ASG Excavating Inc was awarded the tender for the Widder and Springer Watermain Project in the amount of $ 683,259.78 and BM Ross and Associates were awarded contract administration for the project in the amount of $ 79,934.00
- Council received a report regarding temporary water supply to Kettle and Stony Point
- The 2026 Forest BIA budget was approved in the amount of $ 28,500
- Council was presented with a report regarding Restricted Acts after Nomination Day for information
- A public meeting was held for an Official Plan and Zoning By-Law Amendment for property on Northville Cres to permit a seasonal campground; a decision has been deferred at the request of the applicant
- Lakeshore Eco-Network was granted permission to plant trees at the Legacy Recreation Centre as part of their “Lambton Shores Tree People Project: Planting Trees to Fight Climate Change”
- Staff were directed to conduct public consultation on a sand volleyball project proposed by the Ausable Port Franks Optimists
- Neptune Technology was awarded the tender to continue with the water meter replacement project for the tendered price of $ 1,308,341.15
- The 2025 Lambton Shores Annual Water Reports were received
- Johnstone Brothers Bothwell Limited was awarded the gravel supply and delivery for $ 19.91/tonne
- The by-law to establish a municipal service corporation “Discover Lambton Shores” to support tourism was approved
- A contribution agreement with Ontario Ministry of Rural Affairs for the Rural Ontario Development Program – Community Development grant was approved for Phase 2 of the Forest Parkette project
