Huron Shores Area Transit Announces Renewed Municipal Partnerships and Route Changes

With a commitment to delivering dependable and long-term transportation services across our connected communities, Huron Shores Area Transit (HSAT) is announcing several strategic changes to transit routes.

With renewed municipal partnerships, these changes are designed to better meet the evolving needs of HSAT's passengers while ensuring operational sustainability over the coming years.

Renewed Municipal Partnerships

Investment commitments from municipal and First Nation partners play a pivotal role in the long-term sustainability of our transit service. Recent funding commitments from the Municipality of Lambton Shores, Municipality of Bluewater, Municipality of South Huron, Town of Plympton-Wyoming, and Kettle & Stony Point First Nation have enabled HSAT to continue offering reliable and innovative rural transit solutions for our communities.

Route Adjustments

Effective May 31, 2025, Route 4 will be discontinued. This decision was made after an extensive review process focused on optimizing service delivery and working with committed municipal partners to secure sustainable funding for the transit service in each community it serves.

In response to growing demand and new municipal partnerships, we are pleased to introduce a new stop on Route 1 in the Town of Plympton-Wyoming and a new stop on Route 2 in the Municipality of Bluewater. These additions reflect our dedication to expanding our network with new municipal partnerships and enhancing accessibility for residents and commuters in our region. The updated maps for Route 1 and Route 2 will be shared on the HSAT website.

With the expanded service area, additional buses will also be added to Route 1 and Route 2 to accommodate seasonal workers and area visitors.

Behind these changes is a commitment from all levels of government, ensuring continuous financial support for our rural transit service for the coming years. This collaboration allows us to innovate and expand our services while maintaining a focus on long-term operational sustainability.

HSAT remains dedicated to providing excellent service to our ridership. We thank our passengers for their continued support and look forward to serving them across our transit network.
