Lambton Shores Celebrates National Volunteer Week With Launch of Volunteer Appreciation Award Nominations

The Municipality of Lambton Shores is proud to recognize National Volunteer Week by celebrating the individuals and groups who give their time, energy, and passion to strengthen our community.

As part of this celebration, the Municipality is excited to share that nominations are now open for the 2026 Volunteer Appreciation Awards.

“Volunteers play an important role in our community by supporting local programs, events, organizations, and clubs,” said Lambton Shores Mayor Doug Cook. “Their contributions help build a more connected, vibrant, and resilient community and we want to help celebrate them with this year’s volunteer awards.”

The annual volunteer appreciation awards recognize outstanding individuals and community groups whose volunteer efforts have made a meaningful impact in Lambton Shores. Award categories include:

  • Arts and Culture Award
  • Environment Award
  • Good Neighbour Award
  • Heritage Award
  • Sport and Recreation Award
  • Civic Award
  • Outstanding Community Group Award

“We encourage residents to take a moment to nominate someone who goes above and beyond to make Lambton Shores a better place,” continued Mayor Cook. “We have so many incredible volunteers and community groups that are dedicated to improving the community and we hope you can help us recognize them with your nominations.”

Recipients will be honoured later this year at the Municipality’s annual Volunteer Recognition event.

Nominations are now open and will be accepted until June 19, 2026.
