New Mobi-Mat and Mobi-Deck Installation at Grand Bend Beach

Thanks to the generosity of the Rotary Club of Grand Bend and Corona Canada, the Municipality of Lambton Shores has recently installed a new mobi-mat with a mobi-chair and mobi-deck at the Grand Bend Beach.

The donation was made possible through Corona Canada's Accessing Paradise program.

At an opening ceremony last week, Mayor Doug Cook and Councillors Dave Marsh and Scott Ferguson joined members of the Lambton Shores Advisory Commitee and the Rotary Club of Grand Bend to celebrate the donation and official "opening" of the newly installed mat and deck.

The Corona Canada's Accessing Paradise Pledge is an ongoing commitment to make beaches and beach sunsets more accessible for Canadians with mobility challenges. The initiative includes a collaboration with Mobi-mat to provide mobi-mats, mobi-decks, and mobi-chairs to selected beaches across Canada.

The Lambton Shores Accessibility Advisory Committee meets regularly to advise Council on matters related to accessibility, including the preparation, implementation, and effectiveness of the Municipality's accessibility plan. The committee also provides advice on accessibility considerations for public buildings, structures, and parks with the ability to make recommendations to Council.
