Notice of Public Open House: Municipal Class Environmental Assessment - Forest Stormwater Master Plan

THE PROJECT:

The Municipality of Lambton Shores initiated a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) process to develop a Stormwater Master Plan for established and future development areas in the Community of Forest in May 2025. The stormwater review is being undertaken in order to inventory and evaluate existing drainage infrastructure within the community and to investigate the most cost effective and efficient manner to provide improved drainage infrastructure. Preliminary recommendations have now been prepared for problem areas identified during Master Plan investigations. Input from residents is being sought prior to finalizing the preferred approach.

THE ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT PROCESS:

The Stormwater Master Plan is being conducted in accordance with the requirements of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) which is an approved process under the Environmental Assessment Act. Master Plan projects incorporate Phases 1 & 2 of the Class EA process and also include consultation with the general public, government review agencies, First Nation and Métis communities, and affected property owners.
