Council Highlights: July and August 2025

  • Council had a presentation from DFA Infrastructure on the new Asset Management Plan which was adopted by Council
  • Council heard a presentation from Lakeshore Eco-Network and Tree People - the Urban Reforestation Project to support their Vibrancy - Large Project Application
  • Public meetings were held for two zoning by-law amendment applications for:
    • 9803 Parkview Crescent to permit a secondary dwelling unit in a detached building; the application was approved
  • An agreement was approved with TDL Group for the temporary use of a trailer at the Forest Tim Hortons to be used during their renovation
  • Changes were approved for an update to the Procurement and Asset Disposal Policy which coincides with the use of the Bids & Tenders procurement platform
  • Council approved a Municipal Accommodation Tax by-law which will come into effect on January 1, 2026
  • The Municipal Service Corporation (MSC) Business Case for an MSC to support tourism in Lambton Shores was approved
  • Staff was instructed to proceed with documents required for the creation and registration of the Municipal Service Corporation
  • Council received an update report on the Forest King Street Parkette Update
  • The Streetlight Fixture Replacement Tender was awarded to KWS Electric in the amount of $230,201.91
  • The 2025 Asphalt Resurfacing Tender was awarded to Armstrong Paving and Materials Group Ltd. in the amount of $608,195.38
  • Council directed public consultation on the King Street West (Downtown Forest) street reconstruction project  be undertaken
  • Staff were asked to prepare a on Jericho Road improvements prior to the 2026 budget

The next Council meeting is on September 9th at 7:00 pm in the Council Chamber at the Administration Building – 9577 Port Franks Road.   The public is invited to view the meeting online or in person.
