Ice Resurfacing

The final 10 minutes of each scheduled skate will be allotted for the ice to be resurfaced to ensure safety for all patrons. If staff feel the ice is no longer safe for the skaters to be on, then they may choose to resurface the ice sooner.

  • Provides an opportunity for parents to teach young children to skate.
  • Strollers and skate aids permitted.
  • Children must wear a helmet; CSA approved helmets are strongly recommended for everyone on the ice.
  • No sticks permitted.

  • No slap shots or aggressive play.

  • CSA approved helmets are strongly recommended for all skaters.

Contact the Community Services Department at 519-243-1400, option 3 to learn more about how your business or organization can sponsor a skate for the community. 

Parental supervision is required for patrons under16 years of age. No sticks or hockey pucks/ringette rings permitted – only skating is permitted. CSA approved helmets are strongly recommended for all skaters.

All skates are sponsored by the Municipality of Lambton Shores. 

PD Day Skating

Learn to Play will be cancelled to accommodate the PD Day Skating.  

  • Friday, October 10, 2025 - 1:30-3:00pm 
  • Friday, November 21, 2025 - 1:30-3:00pm
  • Friday, January 30, 2026 - 1:30-3:00pm

Christmas Holidays

All regularly scheduled Learn to Play, Learn to Skate and Adult Skate will be cancelled over the Christmas holidays. Family Public Skating on Saturdays will remain scheduled in at its regular time.

Learn to Skate, Adult Skate and Learn to Play will be cancelled this day.

  • Monday, February 16, 2026 - 1:00-3:00pm 

March Break Skating

Learn to Skate and Learn to Play will be cancelled over the March Break.

Private Ice Rentals

The ice at the Shores and Legacy Recreation Centres can be rented out for private parties/functions, depending on availability. Contact our Community Services Department for availability and rental fees.
