Parking

There are two overnight parking options: overnight parking permits for residents and overnight parking for guests.

Overnight On-Street Parking Permits - Summer (Residents Only)

Property owners in designated residential areas in Grand Bend are able to purchase up to two (2) parking permits that allow for on-street overnight parking in the summer months.

These parking permits are available through HotSpot. To purchase a permit:

1. Create an account on HotSpot
2. You will be asked to upload one piece of proof of ownership. This can be a tax or utility bill showing your name and municipal address (format must be JPG, PNG, or GIF and cannot exceed 7MB)
3. Lambton Shores will confirm that you are the owner and are able to purchase a permit. Once the purchase is approved, you will receive email confirmation

Reminder: be sure to confirm that your vehicle is active on the permit

As a reminder, parking is not permitted on roadways between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., except where allowed by permit issued by the Municipality. Permits are only valid to September 15th and are sold annually.

Overnight Parking (Visitors)

Visitors can purchase overnight parking for designated lots using the HotSpot App at any time by beginning a new parking session. Overnight parking can also be purchased at the Municipal office during regular hours of operation (9577 Port Franks Road, Thedford).

Overnight passes can be purchased for the following lots:

• Huron Avenue lot (5729)
• Mid Town lot (5723)
• Municipal Drive lot (5728)

The HotSpot app can be downloaded for free on both iOS and Android through HotSpot, the App Store or Google Play. For support with HotSpot, please call 1-855-712-5888 or email HotSpot Support.

Parking is free in the Gill Road parking lot, the Municipal Drive parking lot (behind the Grand Bend Legion) and the Ontario Street parking lot (south of the Main intersection).

The Municipal Drive parking lot is available for RV parking, boat trailer parking and daily overnight parking ($10.00 fee for overnight).

Main Street parking

Paid parking is in effect from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm daily between May 15 and September 15.

Parking on Main Street is available for a maximum of 2 hours at a rate of $3.00 per hour. Overnight parking is not permitted. If using a parking meter for payment, ensure you correctly display your parking ticket/permit at all times.

Incorrectly displayed or missing permits will result in a parking infraction and fine.

River Road parking

Paid parking is in effect daily from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm between May 15 and September 15.

Parking on River Road is available for a maximum of 2 hours at a rate of $3 .00 per hour. Overnight parking is not permitted. If using a parking meter for payment, ensure you correctly display your parking ticket/permit at all times.

Incorrectly displayed or missing permits will result in a parking infraction and fine.

Parking lots

For a more convenient payment method, you can pay for parking using the HotSpot app on your smartphone. HotSpot is available for all paid on-street parking spaces and parking lots in Grand Bend. Using the app on your mobile device allows you to pay for additional parking remotely, without the need to physically "feed the meter".

With this payment method, you will not have to display anything in your car. This method allows staff to use a wireless device to confirm payment has been made through HotSpot.

Be sure to check that the licence plate on the permit is correct. Incorrect plate entries may result in a parking infraction and fine.

Seasonal parking lot permits can be purchased for $150.00 and are valid from May 15 to September 15.

Seasonal Permits allow daytime parking in either the Huron Avenue or Mid Town parking lot only. Each permit is specific to the lot it was purchased for and is not interchangeable. Seasonal Permits are valid for lot hours only, overnight parking must be purchased separately.

Seasonal parking permits for the abovementioned Grand Bend lots are available through HotSpot (you must have/create an account)

You can resolve, contest, or pay a parking ticket online

If you choose to resolve or contest a parking ticket (option 3 on the back of the ticket), you or your agent must complete an online submission through HotSpot using the link above.

If you choose to pay your parking ticket, you can pay by credit card using the link above, or by cash, cheque or debit at our Municipal Administration Building at 9577 Port Franks Road, Thedford, ON N0M 2N0
