Storm Water and Drainage

Municipal drains

Municipal drains are a very important part of the storm water management for the rural areas of our municipality. There are around 500 municipal drains and six pumping stations in Lambton Shores.

Repairs and maintenance

In order to preserve the healthy environment for our agricultural region, no alteration of a municipal drain can take place without prior approval.

You must obtain approval from the Drainage Superintendent by completing the request for repair or maintenance form.

Capital Projects

The Municipality of Lambton Shores retained the services of B.M. Ross and Associates to undertake a Stormwater Management Master Plan for the Town of Forest. While the Town has a robust stormwater infrastructure system, the increasing intensity of storms, combined with intensification and infill development, necessitates a system wide review.

The objectives of the Master Plan are to develop long term recommendations and projects to provide solutions to existing stormwater infrastructure gaps within the Town.
